“If you’re feeling down and you just want a quick drink, share a good laugh and have a good smile, come to 7 Brew,” said Matt Martinkovic, director of operations for all 7 Brew locations in Tennessee.

7 Brew celebrated the grand opening of their new Johnson City location, located at 1910 N. Roan St., on the morning of Feb. 27. The 7 Brew crew was joined by members of the Johnson City Chamber as well as corporate members. Dave Shanks, chief culture officer of 7 Brew, was unable to attend the ceremony and cut the official ribbon, so Halie Liggett, director of training, assumed the honor.

Liggett cut the ribbon at 7 Brew on Monday morning surrounded by Johnson City Chamber’s President Bob Cantler and other chamber members.

“7 Brew is a unique concept, it’s a drive-thru, it’s high-energy, you know you’ll see the servers out here dancing to music, and you just get in and get through so quickly,” said Cantler. “It’s something that I feel that our high school students, our ETSU students and our young professionals are going to really gravitate to.”

7 Brew originates from Rogers, Arkansas, after being founded in 2015. In the last few years, 7 Brew has been spreading and is excited to provide its kindness to the great communities found in east Tennessee, Martinkovic said. The company has over 20,000 unique customizable drink options, ranging from lattes to cold brew coffee to energy drinks to an assortment of tea.

“[7 Brew] is an experience, it is a great opportunity for our younger workers to be in this business,” said Martinkovic. “Also, it’s just a great way to be with the community every day.”

“For me, it’s about creating a space for people to be absolutely themselves—not only inside the building but outside in the community,” said Liggett.

7 Brew announced at their groundbreaking ceremony, Jan. 18, their next location in Tennessee. There will be a 7 Brew location opening across from ETSU, located at 1208 W. Harris Drive, in the lot of the former Ruby Tuesday’s. There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for this location within the next two months, Martinkovic said.

“We will have such a great ability for walk-up; if [students] are on their way to class they can stop by for a quick drink,” said Martinkovic. “We pride ourselves on customer service, consistency and speed. So, if students need that quick caffeine in the morning, [they can] come to us and we’ll ensure [they] get into class on time.”
