Tad Dickens worked for the East Tennessean from 1993-1998. During his time with the publication, he served as a sports and news reporter, sports editor and executive editor.
Dickens graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
He works for The Roanoke Times as a features and special sections editor.
“I came here [The Roanoke Times] a year after I graduated, having pursued a job here since my college years,” said Dickens.
Dickens finds that there is a variety of stuff to do at The Roanoke Times and accredits the East Tennessean for providing an outlet for his interests.
“I wrote a lot of things at the East Tennessean, and I got some management experience,” said Dickens.
