On March 10 the Lady Mocs beat UNCG 69-60 to take home the SoCon Championship trophy and punch their ticket to March Madness.

In the SoCon tournament the No. 5-seed ETSU women’s basketball team played their first-round game against No. 4-seed Mercer. In that game the Bears were able to secure the win over ETSU 67-52, ending their season.

In the loss, ETSU’s Meghan Downing (New Madison, Ohio) shot an impressive 6-for-9 with 18 points and eight rebounds in 33 minutes of play.

Chattanooga now heads on to March Madness as a No. 14-seed where they will play against the No. 3-seed North Carolina State. The game is scheduled for March 23, taking place in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Chattanooga Mocs are riding into the dance on a 5-game win streak and sit with a 28-4 record. They also feature guard Jada Guinn (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) who has averaged 19.7 points-per-game, making 52.8% of her shots which ranks her 26th in PPG and 44th in FG percentage amongst D1 women’s basketball players.
