As the spring semester ends, many ETSU organizations, clubs and programs host events to celebrate.

The ETSU wind ensemble and concert band performed their final concert of the spring semester on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert started with the ETSU concert band performing three wonderful pieces. From slower and relaxing music to upbeat and exciting music, the concert band ensured their audience would be entertained.

After a short intermission, ETSU’s wind ensemble took the stage, ready to captivate its audience with five different pieces. The Wind Ensemble played pieces that most have never heard of, showing their constant growth as both a team and as individuals.

Preston Trent, ETSU junior and percussionist in the concert band shares his thoughts on the Closing Bands concert.

“This is a requirement for my major, which is music performance, that I take part in the concerts. However, I have been involved with music since I was about four-years-old.” Trent shared.

Trent stated, “We had a lot of really unique elements, especially the last piece where the conductor did not conduct. That’s something that you really don’t see. Overall I think that our bands are progressing in talent and skill with the influx of new members from local high schools and overall both programs, concert and wind ensemble are showing exponential growth I’m excited to see where the program goes.”

During the Closing Bands concert, both conductors Christian Zembower and Joe Moore, took time to celebrate their seniors that would be performing their last concert Tuesday night.

While both ETSU’s concert band and wind ensemble are done for the semester, you can look forward to their performances next year throughout both the fall and the spring semester.
