The Buccaneer baseball team is on a hot streak as their regular season run comes to an end May 18. In their last 10 games, the Bucs are on a 7-3 run, taking two out of three from Purdue in West Lafayette and sweeping The Citadel in conference play this past weekend.
For the rest of the season, the Bucs have their task set for them as they take on South Carolina May 1 in a non-conference midweek matchup before hosting VMI.
The Bucs head back to Asheville to take on the University of North Caroline-Asheville before going back to South Carolina where they’ll have their last regular season series against the Wofford Terriers.
The Bucs will close the regular season in a three game non-conference matchup with Miami University (Ohio) before the Southern Conference Tournament starts.
This year’s Southern Conference Tournament will be held in Greenville, South Carolina, at Fluor Field May 22-26.
The Buccaneers were in third place in conference standings as of May 1.
As the regular season wraps up and the post season begins, be on the watch for senior Cameron Sisneros (Littleton, Colorado). Sisneros leads the Bucs in home runs with 15 and RBIs as well with 59. If the Bucs want to make a deep run into the conference tournament and the NCAA tournament, Sisneros needs to stay hot.
