The National Chocolate Day Fondue Party was hosted by the Campus Recreation’s Wellness Kitchen to celebrate National Chocolate Day with an array of delicious treats. The event took place in the Wellness Corner of the Center for Physical Activity from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.

This first annual event was planned by Shaina Reins, coordinator of fitness and marketing and creator of the Campus Recreation’s Wellness Kitchen, and Kady Harris, graduate assistant of fitness, “to foster nutritional wellness through interactive, hands-on experiences.”

The event hosted around 65 attendees, made up of mostly ETSU students and some faculty and staff. “Many attendees expressed their joy and delight at the opportunity to indulge in a variety of chocolate fondue while selecting their favorites from the items that were available for dipping,” said Reins. Options included fresh fruits, marshmallows, pretzels and other snacks.

The event boasted a social environment which encouraged appreciation for National Chocolate Day. “My favorite part of the fondue party was the vibrant atmosphere created by everyone coming together to enjoy delicious treats and share in the experience,” said Reins.

I really enjoyed this event because it allowed so many students to experience the CPA’s Wellness Corner, as well as taking a break from homework to unwind and enjoy some sweet treats,” said Harris. “My favorite part was celebrating National Chocolate Day with some delicious snacks, specifically the brownie bites.”

If you missed this event, it will return in February during Be Kind to Your Body Week with another fondue party centered around self-love.

The Wellness Kitchen has more events on the calendar to promote health and relaxation including the Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Bowl Workshop on Nov. 20, and Fresh Fruit Fridays taking place every Friday this semester. For more details and to register for the workshop, visit https://campusrec.etsu.edu/.
