The ETSU softball team suffered two one-run losses on Saturday in the Eastern Kentucky Invitational Saturday.
The Buccaneers (1-10) fell in the first game to Ohio University, 2-,1 in eight innings.
April Arnold was the tough-luck loser after allowing only one earned run in the eight innings pitched.
Julia Chance drove in the lone ETSU run with a single in the bottom of the sixth.
In their second game of the day, they fell to Bellmont 5-4. tiffany Vandergriff received the loss after alowing two earned runs in the six innings pitched.
Arnold led the Bucs’ offense, going 1-1 with two RBIs.
Before the doubleheader Saturday, the Bucs came from another losing game against the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels, 8-0, Friday afternoon.
The game was deadlocked at zero until the sixth inning when EKU scored four runs off of Vandergriff.
They scored four more runs in the seventh to account for the margin of victory.
The Bucs were led at the plate by Vandergriff who had two hits in three at bats.
Amy Herrington had four runs batted in and a home run for the Colonels’
The Bucs would finish the tournament on Sunday against Youngstown State in the final day of the EKU Invitational.
