Bob McKillop’s Wildcats saved their best for last in the regular season, pulling out a stunning three-point victory at home over Charleston after garnering the rest of their victories feasting on the league’s weaker sisters.
Defensively, only the Bucs held opponents to a lower field-goal percentage in the conference, with the Wildcats only surrendering 40.5 percent of attempts. On the other side of the ball, they featured a decidedly egalitarian attack, with only Jason Dickens scoring more than 10 points a game (10.6).
An interesting match awaits them Thursday, when they tangle with the Terriers of Wofford, who have a matching 7-9 conference record and declawed the `Cats by 10 in their only meeting, which took place at Wofford, 83-73.
