A team captain, she led her high school squads to the district championship as well as the regional quarterfinals.
Melsar also played on the Springfield Azzuri club team which won the division championship in the fall of 2000 and advanced to the quarterfinals round of the State Cup.
“Jennifer has a lot to offer our program with her experience and desire. She comes from a traditionally strong club program that does a great job preparing players for the next level. Jennifer is strong and athletic, which will help in the Southern Conference,” Henson said.
Richards joins the Bucs after a stellar prep career at Saint Stephens Episcopal High School.
While at Saint Stephens, she earned five varsity letters and helped her team to the regional finals in 1999 and 2000.
A team captain during her senior season, she helped Saint Stephens to the district championship in 2000 and 2001.

With Ashley’s speed and eye for the goal, she will see time in the midfield and on the front line.
