ETSU senior David Johnson has been invited to lay in the National Football All-Star Game in Cleveland, Ohio Saturday.
The game, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Cleveland’s Alumni field, features collegiate seniors from around the nation that are considered professional football prospects.
Prior to the game, these athletes will participate in a pro-day combine with scouts from the National Football League, NFL Europe, Arena Football League Canadian Football League and the XFL in attendance.
A native of Pensacola, Fla., Johnson was a defensive lineman for three years at ETSU.
During his senior season, the nose guard recorded 26 tackles, including five for a loss, and five pass breakups.
As a junior, the 6-foot-two inch, 275-pound lineman recorded 22 tackles (nine solos), four for a loss, including 1.5 sacks.
“David Johnson made an outstanding contribution to our football program,” ETSU Head Football Coach Paul Hamilton said.
“He is a solid defensive player with very quick feet. David has the ability to separate off blocks and made several key plays for us during his career.
