Following his third-place finish in the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational last weekend, East Tennessee State senior All-American Chris Wisler is ranked sixth nationally in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, released today.
Wisler shot under par in all three rounds on the Forest Heights Country Club course (71-70-71). He was the only player in the field to accomplish that feat. Wisler finished just two shots back of the individual meadlist, Nick Cassini of Georgia. It was his fifth top-10 finish of the season and the 17th of his career.
The Buccaneers have risen to 13th in team rankings. ETSU finished seventh (290-294-292) in the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational field that included ten ranked teams.
Wisler leads the team with a 71.7 stroke average. He is the defending Southern Conference Player-of-the-Year, and is a two-time NCAA All-American in 2000-2001.
The Bucs return to action on April 14 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
