Mockingbird 2001, ETSU’s student art and literary magazine announced Thursday its winners in the art and literature competition.
Mockingbird 2001 is a collaborative artistic project developed by the ETSU departments of English and art and design. It features student work in visual and graphic arts, poetry, prose, fiction and non-fiction.
Winners in the three art categories, include Jessica Heschong who took first place in photography, and Melissa Stallard who was award second place. For graphic design/illustration, Bonnie Boochard won first place, followed by Isaac Denton in second place. Monet LaClair won first place in the drawing/printmaking/painting, followed by Donna Wilt in second place and Kevin Stephenson in third place.
Winners in the literature categories, include Shanda Miller who won first place in fiction, and Craig Bradley Owens who was award second place and Devon Koren Asdell won third place. For non-fiction, Jessica Brise won first place, followed by Shanda Miller in second, and Lacey Stewart in third. In poetry, Rhonda Richards won first place, Jeanne Smith won second, and Pam Tabor won third.
Mockingbird 2001 will be available later in April from the ETSU departments of English and art and design and at area bookstores at the cover price of $4.
