Former women’s tennis star Megan Edwards has been hired by the National Basketball Association as a team assistant for the Asheville (N.C.) Altitude.
Edwards, who starred for ETSU from 1996-2000, will work as a team coordinator and /or assistant to the team president. The president of the Asheville Altitude is former Southern Conference commissioner Alfred White.
The Altitude is a member of the eight-team National Basketball Development League (NBDL), which is owned by the NBA, but operates as a separate entity. The NBDL will serve as the minor leagues for the NBA.
Edwards played four seasons of tennis at ETSU, accumulating a 65-47 singles record, and is fifth on the ETSU all-time singles win list.
