The Buccaneer soccer team was shutout by Belmont, 5-0, on Thursday night at Whitten Soccer Complex.
The Belmont Bruins jumped on the board early when freshman Stephanie Dodge netted her second goal of the season in the seventh minute.
Dodge was left alone in the middle of the box after receiving a pass from senior Cristin Czubik.
Belmont’s forwards would hook up again for Belmont’s second goal about five minutes later, this time with Czubik finding the net.
Dodge broke through a pack of ETSU defenders to find Czubik, who calmly flipped the ball over Bucs’ goalkeeper Heather Sanden.
Renee Rice and Brittney Kelly would each add first-half goals to give Belmont a 4-0 lead at intermission.
Belmont took 20 shots on goal in the first half compared to ETSU’s three.
The two teams only managed six shots combined in the final period, with Belmont tallying its final goal in the 70th minute as the ball, off a Buc defender, found its way into the goal.
ETSU managed only four shots in the match.
The Bucs will next play SoCon rival Appalachian State on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Boone, N.C.
