ETSU and local officials will declare Nov. 5-10 as Home-coming Week at a Proclamation ceremony in the Amphitheatre at 11 a.m. on Monday
Johnson City Mayor Duffie Jones, President Paul Stanton, ETSU’s Athletic Director Todd Stansberry and Student Government Association representatives will be some of the speakers.
Performances will be given by the ETSU Marching Bucs, the gospel ensemble and a new student group called the Silent Bucs, which is an organization for the deaf and hard of hearing.
SGA Vice President Jennifer Berry said she is excited about the Proclamation and is “looking forward to seeing some new faces participate” in the ceremony.
ETSU cheerleaders and mascots will also join the celebration, and the Homecoming King and Queen candidates will be presented.
A free cookout will immediately follow the ceremony and students can participate in activities such as key-chain making and barrel painting.
Classes will be dismissed at 11 a.m. and will resume after the ceremony.
“We hope everyone comes and enjoys themselves and the festivities,” said Christy Johnson, SGA secretary of state and co-chair of the Homecoming committee.
