East Tennessee State Lady Buc junior guard Samantha Copeland was named to the Tallahassee Democrat Seminole Classic All-Tournament Team, last Sunday evening from Tallahassee, Fla.
Copeland came off the bench in both games this weekend, averaging 14.5 points per game and 3.5 rebounds while shooting .579 from the floor. She led ETSU in scoring in Saturday’s game against Florida State, scoring 15 points on 6-8 shooting and 3-3 from three-point range. She also added a team-high seven rebounds against the Seminoles.
For the season, Copeland is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game in the first four contests.
The Lady Bucs (1-3) finished fourth in the Seminole Classic, falling to Florida State, 99-66, on Saturday and Akron, 72-64, on Sunday.
Also playing well in the Seminole Classic were Summer Jones, who had 15 points in the Lady Bucs loss to Florida State and Ashley Reed,who had 17 points in ETSU’s 72-64 loss against Akron.
Lauren Trantham also played well recording a double-double against Akron with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The Lady Bucs next travel to Wofford on Dec. 5 and UNC Asheville on Dec. 7.
