Despite hard work and effort, the Lady Bucs lost to Chattanooga, 75-47, last Monday night.
UTC forced 23 turnovers from ETSU and kept them at bay with a 34.4 percent shooting average.
“We know we have to work on teams that have been getting us defensively,” said head coach Karen Kemp. “That’s what I liked about the game.”
Miranda Warfield scored 14 and Jennifer Wilson scored 12 points for the Lady Mocs.
ETSU’s Misty Copas got 10 points overall and Kiya Verdell, Megan Jackson and Ashley Reed each scored seven points.
Coming with strong defense, UTC’s Miranda Warfield helped the team with the turnovers and also made three steals. Both Jennifer Wilson and Heather Dykes had eight assists, Shamya Sermons had seven, Heather McDivitt had five and Mandy Rollins had three assists. Warfield also shot two 3-pointers in the game.
“I was hoping we could come away with two out of the three road games,” said Kemp. “Hopefully, we will continue to do better and get stronger with our offense. We need to really attack pressure with the other team’s defense and also we need to be mentally tough.”
ETSU is now 8-13 overall and 3-9 in the Southern Conference. The UTC Lady Mocs are 14-6 overall and 8-3 in the Southern Conference.
The Lady Bucs travel to Appalachian State tonight and return home on Saturday to face the College of Charleston.
