Senior Dimeco Childress was named the Southern Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
It is the second time this season that Childress has been given that honor and the third time in his career that he has received that honor.
Childress was named Player of the Week on Dec. 17 after scoring 25 points in a win over James Madison.
The Buccaneer senior scored a career-high 36 points, grabbed two rebounds, came up with two steals, and had a block and an assist in the Bucs’ 85-78 victory over SoCon North Division leader Davidson College.
Childress shot 10-for-21 from the field, 2-for-5 from three-point range.
He also went a school record 14-for-14 from the free-throw line, helping ETSU to a school record 39 free throws against the Wildcats.
Childress is fifth in the conference in scoring with an average of 16.5 points per game.
