On Friday the ETSU women’s tennis team fell to 1-11 overall, losing to Tennessee Tech, 6-1.
The doubles match saw two wins and a win by default for Tennessee Tech.
It was a close match for Jessica Irey and Gemma Halim, who were defeated by Lupita Hernandez and Ana Marie Cibils, 9-7.
Aimee Villavicencio and Tatiana Arriaran were defeated by Karmelina Rivera and Maja Russinova, 8-0.
The Tennessee Tech Eaglettes also beat the ETSU Lady Bucs in the singles game.
Hernandez came strong once again, defeating Arriaran with a score of 6-2 and 6-0.
The second match was a victory for ETSU, however, as Cibils took the victory with a score of 6-4 and 8-6.
Luciana Tamburini defeated Halim in the third match, 6-3 and 6-3 and in the fourth match, Rivera took the win from Villavicencio with a score of 6-1 and 6-3.
The fifth match was a victory for Anita Obando against Heather Jones, 6-0 and 6-0. Finally, in the sixth match, Louise Holmvik played against Charmaine Luvis and won, 6-0 to 6-0.
