Novelist and poet Joseph Bathanti will read from his works on Tuesday, April 16, at 8 p.m. in the Forum Room of the Culp Center. Bahanti is currently Writer-in-Residence at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., and winner of the 2001 Carolina Novel Award for East Liberty, a novel about a young boy growing up with a single mother in Pittsburgh during the fifties.Novelist Michael Parker describes the book as a beautiful stunning feat.
Bahanti is also the author of four books of poetry, an award-winning playwright and a Pushcart Prize nominee for both short fiction and essay.
