The Lady Bucs’ golf team improved Tuesday’s second-round score by eight strokes over their Monday round to move up the leaderboard and finish in fourth in the Catamount Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina from the Waynesville Country Club in Waynesville, N.C.
ETSU shot a 308 in Tuesday’s final round after shooting a 316 in Monday’s opening round. Coastal Carolina won the tournament after blistering the course for a first-round 294 and a second-round 295.
Lady Bucs’ senior Mimmie Dymling carded a career low 73 in the final round of play and finished a team-best fifth in the tournament, shooting rounds of 76 and 73 for a total of 149.
The 73 ties an ETSU season best.
Sophomore Kristen Fletcher finished in a tie for 13th with rounds of 79 and 76 for a total of 155.
Senior Catalina Zuluaga tied for 20th in the event, shooting 78 in the first round and 79 in the second round.
Freshman Danielle O’Reilly shot a final round of 80 to finish in a tie for 37th (83-80=163). Fellow freshman Alysa Few rounded out ETSU’s tournament, tying for 50th (86-83=169).
Lady Bucs’ senior Susan McKinney played well as an individual, tying for 39th with rounds of 87 and 77 for a total of 164. The 77 was the best round of McKinney’s career.
The Lady Buc golfers continue on the road, returning to action in the JMU Lady Buke Invitational on April 13-14 from Harrisonburg, Va.
