The ETSU men’s golf team improved their team score by four strokes as they are in fifth place after the second round of the Southern Conference Men’s Golf Championships from the Furman University Golf Course in Greeneville, S.C. The Buccaneers are currently at 2-over par (291-287=578), after shooting a 1-under-par 287 in Saturday morning’s round. Host Furman University leads the event by two strokes at 12-under-par (282-282=564) after firing consecutive 282’s in the first two rounds of play.

The Bucs were 3-over par and nine strokes back of the team leaders, Furman and College of Charleston on Friday.

Freshman Cennydd Mills fired a second-round 3-under-par 69 to propel him into a tie for eighth at 1-under-par (74-69=143).

Buccaneer juniors Adam Riddering and James Johnson finished the second day of the tournament in a tie for 16th at 1-over-par.

Riddering shot a second round 2-over-par 74 (71-74=145) while Johnson fired a even-par 72 (73-72=145).

Freshman Jeremy Hobson, is just one stroke behind Ridddering and Johnson, in a tie for 22nd (73-73=146) after carding his second-straight 73 on Saturday.

Fellow freshman Marco Trejos rounded out the second round for ETSU, finishing in a tie for 32nd (76-73=149) after shooting a 1-over-par 73 on Saturday.

Riddering led the Bucs after the first day of play, shooting a first round of 1-under-par.

The final round was Sunday afternoon. Results were unavailable as of presstime.
