The ETSU men’s golf team fired their best round of the tournament on Sunday to finish in fourth in the Southern Conference Men’s Golf Championships from the Furman University Golf Course in Greeneville, S.C. The Buccaneers shot a 3-under par 285 as a team on Sunday to finish at 1-under-par (291-287-285=863). College of Charleston won their first Southern Conference Championship by finishing at 14-under-par (282-285-283=850).

Junior Adam Riddering led the Bucs in the tournament, finishing in a tie for seventh at 4-under par.

Riddering scorched the Furman University course for a career-low 5-under-par 67 in Sunday’s final round.

The 67 tied for the low round of the day.

Fellow junior James Johnson shot his second-straight even-par 72 to finish in a tie for 12th at 1-over par (73-72-72=217).

Freshman Cennydd Mills finished just one stroke behind Johnson after shooting a final-round 3-over-par 75 to place him in a tie for 15th at 2-over-par (74-69-75=218).

Freshman Jeremy Hobson finished one stroke behind Mills, ending the tournament in a tie for 20th at 3-over-par (73-73-73=219) after carding his third-straight 73 on Sunday.

Fellow freshman Marco Trejos rounded out the tournament for ETSU, finishing in a tie for 27th (76-73-73=222) after shooting his second straight 1-over-par 73 on Sunday.

The Bucs return to the links on May 9-10 from the Atlanta Intercollegiate in McDonough, Ga., hosted by Georgia State University.

ETSU will then compete in the East Regional from May 16-18 in Atlanta, Ga.
