ETSU’s women’s soccer team lost a heartbreaker to the Samford Bulldogs, 1-0, in two overtimes Monday night. The game marked the first ever meeting between the two teams, which has found the Bulldogs undefeated thus far.
The Bucs drop to 2-3, 1-0 in the SoCon, while Samford pushed a win streak to seven.
The game-winning goal was scored off of a header by freshman Mary Ann Wagner, her first goal on the season and in her collegiate career.
ETSU keeper Heather Sanden had seven saves on the night as the Bulldogs out-shot the Bucs 19-4 in the match.
The Bucs will be back in action Friday against SoCon opponent UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m.
