Hello East Tennessee and fellow students! I feel like we’re in a big mess with the Bush Administration. What a mess they have made out of the economy and now they are about to kill a lot of Americans in Baghdad. What happened to diplomacy? We owe it to America to explore every avenue of peace available and must not fail.
The Bush Administration has spent the surplus that the last administration spent eight years saving for the American people. It also gave 40 percent of the surplus to the top 1 percent who don’t need it. Hold on, it gets better. The Bush Administration has wrecked our economy and has ruined our credibility in the Middle East.
Now the Bush Administration has put America on the path to war with Iraq.
Waiting is not what we can afford to do. Peace is about to leave town and when it does, you will be leaving for Baghdad. I’d say this matters because you will be ones dying there.
Time is running out for you and for America while you sit silently. Peace is packing her bags and death and destruction are coming. What can you do? Fight to keep us out of Iraq. Fight as if your very lives are depending on it.
I have e-mailed other U.S. senators because Tennessee’s Republican senators are not for peace. Remember that when you go to the polls to vote this November.
I have spent last weekend fighting for you and America by e-mailing Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and other U.S. senators: Edward Kennedy, Jean Carnahan, Joe Lieberman, Paul Wellstone, Joe Torricelli, Robert Byrd and others because you and America matter.
I have pleaded with them to stop the Bush Administration; to use all the power and means they have available as U.S. senators to stop this appointed president from taking America down the wrong path to war.
I will continue to pray to God for peace. This administration’s dismal record on the economy and its foreign policy failures speak for themselves folks. I’m pleading with you to get in this fight because it’s a fight you cannot afford to lose.
A famous minister once said, “When you see a good fight, get in it.” This is a fight all Americans must get involved in because you and America matter.
Peace . it matters.
