Wofford’s Christine Pezzutti scored with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime in Friday night’s 2-2 draw with ETSU. This marked the second straight overtime game for the Bucs.
With the tie, ETSU falls to 2-5-1 and 1-2-1 in conference play.
The Terriers opened up the scoring in the 32nd minute, when Kyrah Bacote converted a penalty kick. ETSU responded minutes later, when freshman Lauren Kulish sent the ball past the Terrier keeper. At the half the score remained 1-1.
After the break, ETSU’s Erica Odom scored on a 40-yard blast at the 74:12 mark. Pezzutti notched her goal at 87:44 to send the game into overtime. The two overtime periods were scoreless.
“We worked hard and are continuing to grow, things are really starting to come together,” said ETSU coach Heather Henson.
Wofford outshot East Tennessee State 28-9 in the match, with a 10-2 overtime margin. Buc keeper Heather Sanden recorded 13 saves. The Bucs return to action today, as they travel to Furman.
