THE COACHES: Mocs head coach Donnie Kirkpatrick (Lenoir-Rhyne ’82) is in his third season as head coach of the Mocs and has an all-time record of 8-23 … Ellis Johnson (The Citadel ’75) is in his second season as the Bulldogs’ head coach and has a record of 5-14 … Johnson has a career record of 8-13 including a 5-6 season in 1983 as the head coach at Gardner-Webb.
GAME NOTES: Chattanooga is coming off a 20-17 loss vs Appalachian State last week … UTC LB Josh Cain had 20 tackles to build his streak of double digit tackle games to 10 dating back to last season … Cain has hit the 20 tackle mark for the second time this season, making 23 stops at Wofford earlier in the year … The Citadel is returning home after a dropping a 27-14 decision at Wofford on last week … Chattanooga is averaging 225.9 YPG passing this season and is third in the SoCon … The Bulldogs have been successful on fourth down conversions this year, converting 76.5 percent of the time … The Mocs have been sucessful in stopping teams on fourth down attempts, holding their opponent 46.7 percent success rate … Citadel assistant coach Mark Fleetwood called the offensive plays for the Mocs during the ’93-’94 seasons as he served as UTC’s offensive coordinator.
