GAME NOTES: Georgia Southern, ranked fourth nationally by The Sports Network, will return home to face Jacksonville State after a 42-21 win at Furman last week … The top rushing team in the nation, GSU gained 409 yards on the ground at Furman and is averaging 389.2 yards per game on the ground … Chaz Williams, the SoCon’s leading rusher, ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as the Eagles claimed a share of their sixth straight SoCon championship … GSU snapped Furman’s 11-game home winning streak and handed the Paladins their first regular season loss since the 1998 season when the Eagles posted a 45-17 victory at Paladin Stadium … The Gamecocks are coming off a 19-10 upset victory against third-ranked North-western State.
