ETSU announced the eighth annual ETSU Snow Volleys Doubles Championships will be held Jan. 9-19, 2003.
The theme for the tennis tournament, which will be held in Memorial Center, is “Making a Difference for Tennis Scholarships.” It helps to raise more than $20,000 annually.
Registration deadline is Jan. 3, 2003 and is $35 per player for the first entry and $25 per player for the second entry. Registration includes a long sleeve tournament T-shirt and an invitation to the two special events — the House of Ribs Player Party on Jan. 12 and the Rocky River Grill Wrap-Up Party on Jan. 19.
All adult levels are available for players 19 years of age and older. Players are asked to compete in their NTRP certified level as of Dec. 20, 2002. This year’s tournament will have the following divisions: men’s and women’s 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, Open; senior 3.5, 4.0, 4.5; combo mixed doubles 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, Open; and senior 6.5 and 7.5. Also there will be a varsity amateur men’s doubles division, in which men will be paired with ETSU men’s varsity players for round robin doubles action.
