In regard to taking Howard Stern off the air, I would like to express my opinion.
I was appalled when I heard his show would be taken off the air for irresponsible broadcasting. I watch his show a lot and I don’t think that there is any reason for it to be cancelled.
Howard Stern has been on the air for a long time and the content of his show has remained the same. Though, it is not for all audiences I feel that, as an adult, you should know if you can handle that type of show.
The show is broadcast for an adult audience. It contains sexual content and vulgar language.
Anyone who knows who Howard Stern is should know that.
The radio station being taken off the air for not having responsible broadcasting is almost an insult.
Stern and his crew do the same things for every show and nothing has changed since the day he first aired.
On one of the recent shows, they had a guy call in using a racial slur.
Stern hung up the phone and that was the end of the conversation.
Stern, or any other person, can’t control someone calling and saying things that aren’t appropriate. Stern did what he needed to do.
If people watch the show and are OK with everything else shown on it, then there is no reason to take the show off for the stupidity of a caller using racial slur.
If they are going to take the show off the air for sexual content and language getting out of control, then they should take all shows that have “everyday life” content off the air.
I think that stations would find that their listeners and viewers aren’t watching or listening nearly as often as they used to.

Dear Editor,
Americans take it very seriously when any outsider dares to taint our beloved democracy, but in the same instance, we demolish the same democracy we try so hard to protect and maintain.
Looking at the mistakes and shortcomings of our past, we should learn from them and become a better nation. But, instead we duplicate and accept those mistakes.
The initial wrath of this behavior was bestowed upon the Native Americans. Then the African Americans’ equality and right to justice was infringed upon.
The same inequality occurred against the immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe during the early 1900s.
And now, even in the 21st century, this injustice still exists.
The Hispanics and Arabs in this country are chastised every day.
Remember, this treatment came from the same country that honors, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these, are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness …”
Instead of habitually reading and regurgitating these words, how about we take them seriously and make them words we live by.
