Dear Editor.
First I wish to congratulate the entire team for the great job you have been doing. One of my favorite times is when I read the East Tennessean. I decided to write because I am facing a problem that so many other students probably have now which is finding the right place to live.
Very soon, the spring semester will be over and many of us would like to find other apartments/rooms, not to mention new students who are planning to attend ETSU next fall.
I went online and checked the off-campus listing on the Adult, Commuter and Transfer Services, and believe me, they have surely forgotten what the word “UPDATE” means.
I tried several phone numbers listed there only to have the same answer, “Sorry ma’am, the apartment has been rented months ago.”
Also, I think all those apartment communities should provide more information on their web sites.
It’s not easy to compare rents when you don’t have all the information. The monthly rent may be lower somewhere but the billing system tremendous somewhere else.
So please, is there a way you could voice this matter that is surely a deep concern to other students who are trying to find apartments off campus?
