Dear Editor,
This is the first time I have gotten to read this article and I became interested in it after reading the Oct. 2 issue of the East Tennessean. I have always been a person interested in controversy and I feel like your article showed a lot of the courage you have as a writer to take on such a touchy issue.
We all know religious groups are the first to deny that anything they promote or deal with has anything to do with business scenarios and greed. But oftentimes the leaders of said organizations run them just like any other business in America, laden with marketing tools and gimmick advertising that doesn’t reflect the true nature of all parties at play.
Thanks not only for being informative but for also making literary waves in what has always been a dull publication.
Mrs. Torrance
