Dear Editor,
I think this is something important for everyone to hear. Animal abuse can be compared to slavery, in my opinion.
An artist named Guillermo Habacuc Vargas starved a dog to death.
A lot of people have signed the petition on the Web site to stop this, but should we even have to?
Many people have signed another petition about Canada’s seal hunt, which is cruel.
It amazes me that we used to enslave people for money and treat them in ways I find unimaginable.
We are desensitized through the media, where you can see a puppy getting kicked on television.
Usually people laugh, but it actually happens. We are treating animals like we used to treat slaves before the Civil War.
They are starving, and people own too many of them and don’t take care of them.
They have a right to be here just as much as we do. I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat meat, because that’s unhealthy, but rather I’m talking about people who own pets and abuse them.
If you don’t like your cat, dog, pig, etc. don’t hurt it, instead send it to someone who will actually care for it.
However, if you hate animals in the first place, don’t have one.
