Dear Editor,
It really amazes me how far women have come in the last few centuries. Women’s roles have been advancing a great deal, in positive ways.
Back in the day when slavery existed women had very little say or importance in everyday life for that matter. But now women are receiving more and more importance in the world.
Women today are getting involved in politics and making changes. It is about time that females gain the respect they have always deserved.
Two women that will always be greatly remembered in history in my eyes are Abigail Adams and Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Adams stood by her husband’s side as he performed the role of president of the United States in the late seventeen hundreds.
Several years later, Hillary Clinton has done the same. But Mrs. Clinton is not going to settle at just that. Instead, she is presently fighting for her chance as well.
Abigail Adams once said women should not be content with the simple role of being companions to their husbands.
I think it is pretty ridiculous that just because Hillary Clinton is a woman that people think she does not have the same rights as her husband to hold the a position such as president of the United States.
Women have come so far since the beginning of our country and just Hillary running for this office helps women’s rights that much more.
