Dear Editor,
I would like to share an experience that I had while trying to park.
I parked across from McDonald’s beside Poor Richards because I could not find a spot anywhere else. My car was towed 20 minutes later.
Apparently, those spaces are not free to use, and the owner (yes apparently you can own a parking lot) is quick to dial up the towing agency on poor college students.
I wasn’t even aware that without involving law enforcement a car could be towed, but moral arguments aside, it is legal.
I don’t want this letter to bash anyone, I just wanted to warn my fellow students so that they do not end up being charged $110 to get their car back after it has been towed.
Also, to add insult to injury, my fiance’s car was also towed and his gas somehow disappeared from his car while in the impound.
Drive safe.
