Dear Editor,
A letter from Justin Fields [Sept. 4 issue] bemoans the politicians we get, but we only get what we vote for. If we were willing to vote for an honest, intelligent, hardworking president, then that’s what we would get. But the majority of voters demand a media circus: attack ads, sound bites, and claims that the other candidate hates mom, America and apple pie. Winston Churchill put it best: “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”
