Final results and updated draws for day two, on Sunday will be posted shortly. Women’s singles brackets Gold, Green, Red, Black, Blue and Pink are final. Also in women’s doubles action, brackets A1, A2, B, C and D are complete.
ETSU women stand atop leaderboard
The ETSU women’s golf team fired a combined second round score that was a full eight strokes better than any other team in the field, moving into the team lead Saturday at the Sea Trail Women’s Intercollegiate.
Heading into Sunday’s final round, the Buccaneers (309-298=607) lead host Elon by four strokes and are seven strokes better than third place Murray State.
The Bucs will continue with final round play Sunday, with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m.
Men’s tennis updates from intercollegiate
Here are quick updates from the 41st annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships, being played, Friday through Monday, in Athens, Ga.
Senior Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) defeated Ryan Smith of Georgia Tech, 6-1,6-3.
In the consolation bracket, sophomore Matej Zlatkovic opened his day by defeating Jerry Sundrgen of Morehead State.
In doubles action the ETSU team of Bottoni and Teraz defeated Damien Cordesse and Michael Fedoseyev of Lander College 8-5. Also in pair’s competition the ETSU tandem of Olivares and Ahlgren defeated Duke’s Dylan Arnold and Torstein Wietoska, 8-3.
