Dear Editor,
I just read the article about the SGA discussing the parking issues and the smoking ban. I agree that something needs to be done about parking. There needs to be more handicap spaces made available because on Monday and Wednesday I have a very difficult time finding parking because my class those two days is later in the day.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I arrive early so I don’t have a problem finding a spot. As to the smoking ban, please don’t repeal it. I have asthma. I don’t have to carry or wear my dust mask now except when someone ignores the ban. This morning a girl was ignoring the ban. My asthma was triggered a little. I was still trying to clear my lungs when I got to class. I got triggered further by a girl’s perfume, but that’s another issue. I ended up leaving class and going to the Health Clinic. I had to have a breathing treatment to calm my battered lungs.
If the smoking ban is repealed, I’ll have further problems set up by the smoke. I refuse to quit school because of some nicotine-addicted knotheads who refuse to obey rules. If the ban is repealed, there better darn sure be some enforcement of the rules against smoking in doorways and on stairs and ramps. I’ve had it with rude people not caring about who they poison with this garbage.
