Another week of school, another week in television. With the Presidential election drawing closer and closer, expect for more and more Presidential debates to interrupt your viewing. If politics are not your forte, here are a few must-see items this week.
Monday has the delights of CBS’ comedy lineup, especially last year’s smash hit “The Big Bang Theory,” which airs at 8 p.m.
This week, Sheldon shows Penny the joys of online gaming and creates a monster when she becomes addicted. At 8:30 p.m. is “How I Met Your Mother,” which this week finds the group having to deal with the possibility of separation when Ted’s fiancée reveals that she wants him to move from the city to live with her in New Jersey after their wedding.
Later, at 9 p.m., on NBC is returning hit “Heroes.” After last season’s disappointing arc, caused mainly by a shorten season and poor usage of the episodes available, “Heroes” has returned better than ever.
The fourth episode into the season, “I Am Become Death,” finds power absorbing hero Peter Petrelli thrust four years into the future by his futuristic self in hopes of changing the catastrophic future that awaits them.
Many twists and turns await Peter in the future including a personality change for the indestructible Claire and a domesticated Sylar, who was revealed in the premiere by matriarch Angela Petrelli to be the third Petrelli son.
Tuesday finds the night shortened by the Presidential debates, so options are sparse. At 8 p.m., on FOX is a reality show-themed episode of “House.” House and the crew are followed by a film crew as he performs surgery on a teen with a facial deformity, only to have the teen have a heart attack on the operating table.
If you are interested in the debates, they air on all the major networks starting at 9 p.m. This week finds candidates Obama and McCain facing off on the pressing topics.
Wednesday offers a more varied lineup. At 8 p.m., on FOX is “Bones.” Booth and Brennan must solve the murder of a local pastor but have their work cut out for them in determining the motive.
At 9 p.m., on NBC is “The Biggest Losers: Families.” It’s hard not to watch this show and feel motivated to get healthier as families find the strength to overcome the obstacles that have held them back for years and lose the weight they need to become healthy.
From a newly married couple hoping to start a family to a recently reunited mother-and-daughter duo, their stories are a spectacular watch.
Thursday is a great day for sports fans as FOX has the first game of the MLB playoffs. Game one of the NLCS play offs starts at 8.
At 9 is the latest episode of NBC’s “The Office.” Off a week due to the debates, “The Office” returns with Holly and Michael trying to plan a presentation on work ethics. Also, after last episode’s surprise proposal, Jim and Pam continue to deal with being apart as Pam continues her art program in New York.
