I don’t care who you vote for.Well, I really do actually care because this is a crossroads election
for president of the United States and pivotal decisions are riding on the outcome. But be that as it may, I don’t care who you vote for. I care that you vote.
This election may be the first you have ever participated in. The choices may be confusing and the rhetoric from all the candidates may turn you off from the whole process, but it is still your right and duty to vote. You need to sift through all the information, decide who makes the most sense for the future of our country and actually
go vote.
The election of president is the only national office we as Americans vote on. Senators represent the state and House members represent our Congressional
district. These are important as well, but the president
has a huge influence on how this country is run.
If you are registered to vote in Tennessee the polls are now open for early voting. All you need to do is go to your county courthouse or other designated polling sites from now until Oct. 30. You will need your voter registration card and/or a valid driver’s license.

This is the “Blah, blah, blah . millions have sacrificed their lives . voting is a privilege
many people in the world don’t get .” part of the article. The U.S. is the greatest country on earth because we vote. Honestly,
this is only a small thing your country asks of you every two to four years. Our forefathers
sweated blood to give us a representative republic with the people truly in charge. Love them or hate them, our chief executives can only spend eight years at the helm and you can participate.
Accept no substitute. Some may say that Hugo Chavez was elected president of Venezuela, but the choice was Chavez and that guy hanging from that tree over there. Saddam Hussein ‘won’ 99 percent of his last election.
Castro was near death and ‘won’ an election.
So much of what America is can be reflected in the presidents
we have elected. Whether they have been war heroes or college professors, from dynastic
families or the humble poor, businessmen, lawyers or actors, these men have reflected the best of America. As Republican
candidate Barry Goldwater famously said on Laugh-In, “In America, anyone can grow up to be president . except me.”
So go already. Do your duty and vote. It’s quick and painless
and it will involve you in an American tradition.
