ETSU Athletics holds first-ever ‘Bluenanza’The ETSU Department of Athletics and the Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association
(BASA) held the first-ever “Bluenanza” basketball tip off event Tuesday night inside Memorial Center as approximately
1,500 fans turned out to show their support of Buccaneer
athletics.
The Lady Bucs tip of the season at home on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. against the University of the Cumberlands, while the men’s team will face Milligan in an exhibition game at 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 inside Memorial Center.
Buccaneer men’s soccer
to host Mercer
The ETSU men’s soccer team will host Mercer Thursday at 4 p.m. at Summers-Taylor Stadium
as the Bucs look improve in the Atlantic Sun conference standings.
The Bucs (5-7, 1-4 A-Sun) are coming off of their first ever A-Sun conference win in ETSU history, defeating USC Upstate Sunday on the road 2-1 in overtime.
Every fan who brings an old pair of tennis shoes to the game will be admitted for only $1 in correlation with the “Kicks for Bucs” promotion.
Women’s tennis heads to the elite championships
After a week long layoff the ETSU women’s tennis team returns to action, as it competes
against some of the top teams in the region at the 2008 Wilson/ITA Regional Championships,
in Winston Salem, N.C.
The six-day event is set to open Wednesday, with the first two rounds of singles prequalifying
play.
ETSU will swing into action Thursday, as the qualifying singles
bracket opens play. Freshman
Paula Jamie (Madrid, Spain) will be matched up against North Carolina State’s Diana Mortlock, while senior Tara Byrne (Johnson City) will face Sara Abutovic of Winthrop.
