As Halloween quickly approaches, so does a week of regular favorites and Halloween specials on TV. Before everyone enjoys the Halloween festivities Friday, here are a few shows to catch before you slip into the darkness of a Halloween candy sugar coma.
Monday at 8 p.m. is game five of the World Series on Fox. With the teams neck-and-neck in the race to the pennant, Monday’s game could be a make-or-break game for the Phillies or the Rays.
But if baseball isn’t your thing, NBC and ABC do offer new episodes of their Monday line-up. At 8 p.m. on ABC is this week’s “Dancing with the Stars.” After last week’s surprise elimination of fan favorite Toni Braxton, the remaining favorites feel the pressure to perform at their best as this week they do a hip-hop dance.
At 9 p.m. on NBC is “Heroes.” The episode, entitled “Eris Quod Sum” finds the House of Petrelli in turmoil. Last week, Arthur Petrelli regained his position as head of the Villians and his week’s episode finds him stripping Peter of his powers and asking for alliances with other Heroes. If you’re a fan of the show, do watch because rumor has it, with the ratings drop, Heroes may not be long for this TV world.
Tuesday brings with it the first Halloween special to grace the major networks as ABC airs “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” The cartoon classic airs at 8 p.m.
The CW brings the second Halloween-themed show of the week. This week’s “Supernatural,” entitled, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester,” finds the Winchesters confronting not only Celtic witches trying to release demon on Halloween, but also butting heads with angel Castiel and his fellow angelic warrior Uriel, who want to simple decimate the town to stop the demon’s summoning.
As the week ends and Halloween comes, I end this by saying enjoy yourself but be safe and for more TV listings visit www.tvguide.com.
