After a week of monumental television, things on the tube go back to their usual, only mildly exciting state.
Last week’s election pretty much conquered the stations from Tuesday to the weekend. So, now that things are back to normal, here are this week’s picks of what you should be watching. NBC once again owns Monday in my recommendations. Not the strongest in the ratings but the “Chuck”/”Heroes” combination serves to be the most entertaining aspect of Monday evenings.
Jordana Brewster guest stars on this week’s “Chuck” as Chuck’s ex-girlfriend who causes him to embellish his current state of affairs.
At 9 p.m. is “Heroes” and this week’s episode “Villians” takes viewers back to before the series started. We’ve had a few glimpses of what the Heroes were like before the series started, this week we discover more about their parents and discover some Heroes are even more connected than they know.
Fans of the show may need to start rallying new viewers, with the recent firing of fan-favorite producers and the ever-dipping ratings, this season could easily be the last.
Tuesday at 8 p.m. is “House” on FOX. After last week’s shocking ending between House and Cuddy, this week is equally as interesting as the team have to treat a patient who is agoraphobic, leaving them with minimal options in discovering his illness.
At 9 p.m. is this week’s eliminations on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Last week soap opera diva Susan Lucci got the boot, leaving fan favorites Lance Bass and Cody Linley just barely making it to the next round. Could they be eliminated this week? You’ll have to tune in to find out.
Wednesday is definitely a day for country music lovers as CBS airs the 42nd Annual CMA Awards at 8 p.m. For those who aren’t into that genre, the CW offers a night of fashion related reality TV with “America’s Next Top Model” and “Stylista.”
Thursday is once again a toss up between NBC and the CW. NBC has its two-hour block of comedy ranging from this season’s hit “Kath & Kim” to returning fan-favorite “30 Rock,” with this week’s episode guest starring Jennifer Aniston and the cast of the ’80’s classic “Night Court.”
Over on the CW is the two-hour block of the network’s highest rated scripted shows. At 8 p.m. is “Smallville,” and this week’s episode “Abyss” finds the return of Braniac and the rebuilding of the Fortress of Solitude as Clark races to save Chloe’s life.
At 9 p.m. is “Supernatural.” This week’s episode “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” finally fills fans in on what Sam was up to during the missing four months between Dean’s death last season to his Lazarus act at the beginning of this season. In the episode the Winchesters are lead by the demonic Ruby to a young woman who can hear the conversations of the Angels and has become a hot commodity among the demons, especially new recurring character Alastair.
