Next semester at ETSU, full-time students could be paying higher tuition due to a Tennessee Board of Regents decision, which will take the “cap” off tuition, requiring students to pay for each additional class that exceeds 12 hours.
ETSU is only one of many Tennessee public colleges and universities that has faced tuition increases and budget cuts. In fact, a total of $90 million was cut from Tennessee’s public university fund in 2008, according to the Memphis Daily News. This is expected to increase this year, leaving many Tennessee college students in debt.
