Welcome back readers. Winter break has come and gone and with its passing, comes the second half of this television season. Some shows from last season have sadly, or not so sadly depending on your opinion, gotten the dreaded cancellation axe. Those who have survived to fight another day are now heading into their next set of new episodes.
Monday finds the networks at a slow opening to the week with FOX and ABC being the only stations to air new programming. Fox offers a new episode of “House” at 8 p.m. as ABC offers a two-hour episode of their reality hit The Bachelor.
Tuesday offers far more options. “American Idol” is back on Fox at 8 p.m. This season is still in the audition period, so viewers can enjoy the auditions of those with talent who could be the next Idol or those who are guaranteed to be torn apart by the judges.
At 9 p.m. is the return of “Fringe” on Fox. This week’s episode entitled “No Brainer” finds the team investigating a murderer who literally turns his victims’ brains into liquid.
Wednesday is a day of singing and mystery as Fox and ABC offer new episodes of ratings big-hitters. At 8 p.m. on Fox is the second half of the weekly “American Idol.” While at 9 p.m. on ABC is “Lost,” which after last week’s mind-blowing season premiere returns with an episode entitled “Jughead” which is guaranteed to leave viewers just as confused and intrigued as last week’s time hopping premiere.
Thursday is another slow television day with the CW being the only station airing new programming. At 8 p.m. is “Smallville” with an episode entitled “Power” which will finally reveal the truth behind last season’s shocking “demise” of fan favorite Lex Luthor.
At 9 p.m. is “Supernatural” which takes viewers back to 1997 with an episode entitled “After School Special.” In order to solve a string of gruesome murders, Sam and Dean Winchester must return to their former high school. The trip invokes memories of a time when Sam was a bullied Freshman and Dean was the “Big man on campus” Senior.
