In response to requests from the student body, ETSU has extended the ID BUC$ program to off-campus merchant locations.
“This new feature provides tremendous convenience and safety for the college community, while cultivating stronger ties with the merchants surrounding the university,” says Charles Forrester, the director of ETSU Campus ID Services. “We are excited about the new service and privileges we are providing, and we are pleased to be able to work with our merchant friends in the community.”
Forrester adds, “Over the next few weeks we expect to add several more area businesses to the list of those accepting ID BUC$.”
The ID BUC$ program involves a declining balance account accessed through the ETSU identification card used by students, faculty and staff. Payments may be made by swiping the card at participating merchants – both on- and off-campus. Members of the campus community can quickly make a deposit into their ID BUC$ accounts online.
ID BUC$ is a separate account from any dining plan a student may purchase. Those plans cannot be used at off-campus locations.
Participating merchants have identifying stickers on their doors, and they are listed on the Campus ID Services Web site.
The current ID BUC$ off-campus venues include: Zaxby’s Restaurant ( 1823 W. State of Franklin Rd.), CiCi’s Pizza (198 Marketplace Dr.), Kroger (The shopping center at 1805 W. State of Franklin Rd. and Browns Mill Rd. at North Roan St.),Cost Cutters Family Hair Salon (The shopping center at 1805 W. State of Franklin Rd.), CVS Pharmacy (1940 S. Roan St. and 840 W. Market St.).
