Another week of school, another week of television programs to help you survive the week ahead. With finals week approaching, every little break a student can get will help them survive. So once more, here is a supply of what’s new and entertaining this week in TV.
Monday is full of new episodes for students to enjoy. At 8 p.m. there is “House” on FOX or “Chuck” on NBC.
On “House,” rapper-actor Mos Def guest stars as a bicycle accident victim who is suffering from “locked-in syndrome” where he can’t move or communicate with the outside world. Luckily for him, he’s sharing a room with House, who has suffered a minor motorcycle accident during a mysterious road trip. Most of the episode will be seen through the eyes and ears of Mos Def’s character which makes it an interesting watch.
On NBC is “Chuck” with an episode entitled “Chuck versus the Broken Heart.” When Chuck and Sarah’s complex relationship is exposed, they must deal with the arrival of a hardened female agent played by Tricia Helfer of “Battlestar Galactica” who comes to evaluate Sarah’s performance.
At 9 p.m. on NBC is “Heroes” with an episode entitled “Into Asylum.” As Nathan and Claire hide south of the border after Nathan’s ability is exposed, Danko conspires to kill all those with abilities, the most shocking aspect is who he teams up with to fulfill his plans.
Tuesday brings a couple of shows sure to raise some hell in primetime. At 8 p.m. on the CW is “Reaper.” In the episode entitled “I Want my Baby Back” Sam and the gang must become babysitters when an escaped soul leaves behind her baby while trying to escape them. Meanwhile, Andi, Sam’s love interest, finally discovers that Sam is the devil’s son.
At the special time of 9:20 p.m. on FOX is the return of “The Osbournes” as they get their own variety show. And trust me, I do not foresee this being like the Osmonds in any way.
Wednesday is a night of mystery.
At 8 p.m. on CBS is an interesting show entitled “I Get That A Lot.” The concept of the show resembles candid camera, only unsuspecting people find themselves being tricked by celebrities assuming ordinary everyday jobs, such as Jessica Simpson working at a computer repair shop or Heidi Klum serving pizza.
At 9 p.m. the mystery continues on a deeper level with ABC’s “Lost.” This week’s episode entitled “Whatever Happened, Happened” finds the story shifting to focus on newly returned Oceanic 6’er Kate as she tries to save the life of the last person viewers would suspect. Could this possibly be the episode where fans finally learn what Kate did with Aaron before boarding the flight which returned her to the island?
Thursday is a night of a series ending episode for one show and “stranger than fiction” storyline for another. At 8 p.m. on NBC is a clip show remembering the past series of “ER” as it prepares for its series finale. Following the retrospective is the last ever episode of the NBC hit series. Entitled “And in the End,” the final episode finds old faces returning to support Carter as he opens a medical facility for the less fortunate in Chicago. Having watched ER on and off since I was a child, it is a sad occasion to see it end, but at least it gets a proper end, sadly without series creator Michael Crichton who passed away earlier this year.
In a less somber hour, the CW has “Supernatural” at 9 p.m. The episode entitled “The Monster at the End of this Book” finds the Winchesters in a peculiar situation when they discover their lives, loves and losses have been accurately portrayed in a comic book series ironically named “Supernatural.” When they track down the author they discover that there is still one more issue to be published and the storyline could prove deadly for them.
