The end of semester is looming above everyone’s head and as we prepare ourselves for “dead week,” or more appropriately, “the week when everything is due and makes you feel dead” week, some will turn to their televisions for relief.
Monday is a night of finales for NBC with “Chuck’s” finale at 8 p.m. followed by the finale of “Heroes” at 9 p.m. The finale of “Chuck” entitled, “Chuck versus the Ring,” finds Ellie and Awesome’s wedding day finally happening. Chuck must not only ensure his sister the wedding she has always wanted, but also protect her from Fulcrum and Roark, played by guest star Chevy Chase, who plans to kill her if the intersect isn’t returned to them. Fans of the show should note that there’s a special “Save Chuck” campaign happening in co-ordinance with Subway. The night of the finale, buy a $5 foot long at your local Subway and drop a comment in the in-store comment box telling them that you’re participating in the “Save Chuck” campaign. Hopefully the show can be saved for one more season.
At 9 p.m. is the highly anticipated finale of “Heroes” as the heroes prepare for their final showdown with Sylar. In the episode entitled, “An Invisible Thread,” Sylar continues his plan to shake hands with the president to take over his identity, as Nathan decides to take on Sylar by himself in order to right the wrongs he has committed. Elsewhere, Hiro discovers a possibly deadly side effect of returning powers. This finale is sure to leave fans begging for more as the ending promises a preview of the upcoming volume, rumored to be entitled “Redemption.”
Skipping ahead to Wednesday, the evening is ruled by ABC as “Scrubs” continues its countdown to the series finale at 8 p.m. In the episode entitled, “My Chief Concern,” J.D. is faced with the decision to leave behind Sacred Heart and his friends in order to be closer to his son.
At 9 p.m. is “Lost,” with an episode entitled “The Variable,” which is a follow up episode to last season’s “The Constant.” In the episode, Faraday makes his return after a long absence to tell his friends what he’s learned about the island. Unfortunately, these revelations could possibly prove to be tragic for one of them.
Thursday is once more a night for the CW as their two highest rated scripted shows get closer to their epic finales. At 8 p.m. is “Smallville” with an episode entitled, “Beast.” Clark discovers that Davis, otherwise known as Doomsday, is still alive and Chloe has taken an active part in his hiding. As Chloe and Davis flee Metropolis, Clark must find a way to protect his best friend from the beast within Davis.
At 9 p.m. is “Supernatural” with an episode entitled, “The Rapture.” Sam and Dean come face to face with the man Castiel’s been possessing when they discover that Castiel has been taken, leaving behind Jimmy, his vessel. Viewers are finally given a glimpse into the life of Castiel’s vessel before his possession as the guys try to figure out why Castiel was taken and why demons are so interested in Jimmy’s family. Also, in the episode, viewers will finally get a chance to see just how affected Sam truly is by his demon blood addiction. With only three more episodes until the apocalyptic season finale on May 14, this episode is sure to set up a chain reaction which will leave fans speechless in the finale.
