Today 7-8 p.m. -The Office of Multicultural Affairs is offering free Latin dance lessons to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the D.P. Culp University Center Ball Room. Each lesson, taught by Team Aña (also known as Salsa Tri-Cities), is designed so that you can attend one or all classes and will focus on both beginner and more advanced levels of dance experience. In addition to lessons, we will be hosting other Hispanic Heritage Month events including educational booths, a free concert on the patio featuring Brim Leal, and a Fiesta “Día de Los Muertos” (Day of the Dead Party). 7-8:30 p.m.– Environmental Film Series continues with “Milking the Rhino” in Ball Hall auditorium.
7:30 p.m. – Double Reeds and Piano Recital will take place in Room 107 of Mathes Hall. This is a guest bassoon, oboe and piano recital. Guests are welcome as the Department of Music presents a program of chamber music consisting of trios by Madeleine Dring and Simon A. Sargon, and Mill Songs for oboe and bassoon by Dan Welcher. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
Tuesday, Oct. 6
9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Salvadore Dali Exhibition will be displayed in the Reece Museum. During his life, Dali created over 1,500 works. Despite his intuition to convert to different groups, his work still remained as typical Dalinian style. For more information contact the Reece Museum at 439-4392.
4:30-6:50 p.m. – Femsex Workshop will take place at the D.P. Culp University Center, Meeting Room 3. The female sexuality workshop creates a safe environment where female students can work to attain an empowered relationship with female identity and sexuality. Semester long workshop meets weekly (not for credit).
