2-3:30 p.m.- A free classic pastoral comedy “As You Like It” (directed and adapted by Herb Parker) will be featured in the D.P. Culp Center’s outdoor amphitheatre. A political upheaval sets the stage for banishment, love and mistaken identities for Rosalind as she tries to make a life as a shepherd. Disguised as Ganymede, a man, she finds herself involved in the love affairs of everybody around her as she tries to require her own love with Orlando, the son of a close companion to the man who banished Rosalind.4:30-5:30 p.m. – Phillip Rhodes offers behind-the-scenes presentation on compositional process of his important work. “Bluegrass, Beethoven and the Bicentennial” will be featured in Mathes Hall, Room 107.
Tomorrow, Oct. 9
7-8:30 p.m. — In celebration of Deaf Awareness week, a storytelling performance will be held by internationally acclaimed deaf performing artist Peter Cook in the D.P. Culp Center’s auditorium.
7 p.m. — Buctainment presents free movie night with Disney Pixar’s “Up” in the D.P. Culp University Center’s Ball Room. Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and now in his 78th year he launches his house into the sky via thousands of balloons. This hilarious journey takes you into a lost world with the least likely duo on Earth. This event will have free popcorn.

8:30 a.m.- Registration for the Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Sigma Chapter Alzheimer Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. at VA Mountain Home Gazebo in Johnson City. Walk begins at 9 a.m.
